Alan Pain

Alan has been the Associate Minister at CBC since the end of March (2011). He works part-time, seeking to assist Neil and the Leadership team in all aspects of the ministry of the church and to develop his passionate conviction that every church is essentially and inevitably implicated in the world mission of Jesus.

Alan’s previous experience is of 9 years in a rural pastorate in Northamptonshire, 22 years as minister of Sutton Coldfield Baptist Church and almost 10 years as Director of the BMS World Mission ‘International Mission Centre’ in Selly Oak, Birmingham. Following his ‘retirement’ at the end of July 2009, he taught for a year at Birmingham Christian College, prior to taking up this appointment with Catshill Baptist Church.

Alan has been married to Lyn since 1967 and they have lived in Northfield since 2004. Alan & Lyn have two daughters, one son, and six grandchildren. Alan’s main interests outside of Christian ministry are his allotment, most forms of sport and an active participation in Veteran’s (Masters) Athletics. He is also an online tutor for Spurgeon’s College where he trained for Baptist Ministry in the mid-late sixties.

Alan and Lyn are excited to be involved with CBC at this time and look forward to playing their part in the continuing growth of the church.
